ACESS - Akron Council of Engineering and Scientific Societies

Science Fair Judges & Mentoring

Awards are given each year to outstanding projects at two science fairs held for public and private school students. ACESS both provides and coordinates the funding and awards from member societies and corporations for the students. ACESS members and societies' members also recruit judges for these fairs. The Community Relations Committee has been handling these events since 1982.

Contact ACESS for details of the next local science fairs.

The fairs are:

  • Akron Science and Technology Expo – an annual fair hosted by the Akron Public Schools.
  • Western Reserve District Science Day – an annual regional fair hosted by The University of Akron. Qualifiers at this fair go on to the Ohio State Science Day.
