Two $1,500 scholarships given annually, one to a student at Kent State University and one to a student at The University of Akron.
To be eligible for these awards the students must be juniors or seniors working toward a four-year degree that is related to one of the
disciplines represented by an ACESS member society. Applicants are to submit an application, including a letter of recommendation from
a faculty member at the respective university, and the awardees are selected by the ACESS Education Committee based on GPA, field experience
in the discipline, science fair participation, extracurricular activities, participation in student chapters of technical societies,
career objectives, and financial need. The Education Committee handles this selection.
The Akron Council of Engineering and Scientific Societies (ACESS) requests nominations and applications for its annual ACESS
Scholarship Program for University of Akron and Kent State University students who expect to be Juniors or Seniors in STEM-related,
undergraduate, four year bachelor degree programs in the 2017-2018 academic year.
Scholarship Amount: $1,500
(to be sent to the Bursar’s Office for deposit to the awardee’s account for the 2017-18 academic year)
