A group of ACESS and other society members had the pleasure of touring the Girl Scouts STEM Center of Excellence on February 11th, 2026, located next to Camp Ledgewood in the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  Jane Christyson, CEO of Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, led the group through the impressive facility consisting of a workshop, wet lab, 3D printing/coding/robotics lab, observatory with a retractable roof for stargazing, maker space, and other indoor/outdoor classrooms and multipurpose spaces.  The nature-centered design, as well as many of the outdoor features (rain garden, green roof, beekeeping area, smart flower solar panel system, etc.), reflect the Girl Scouts’ emphasis on environmental stewardship. The center is available for Girl Scout troop visits, school field trips, summer camps, and other community programs.  Visit the website to learn more about the STEM Center programs, ways to get involved, and other opportunities to support: Vivian von Gruenigen, MD STEM Center of Excellence | Girl Scouts of North East Ohio
